What kind of warranty is there on EVFI vehicles?

All EVFI vehicles have a lifetime warranty on the drivetrain. There are only a few moving parts in the EVFI design. There is no petroleum, no belts, no hoses or water. The multi-speed transmission is over-engineered to handle any type of driving condition. All other parts will be warrantied for at least 5 years, regardless of mileage.

Can EVFI vehicles be driven on any highway?

Yes. EVFI vehicles are undergoing Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard certification at this time. EVFI will begin operation under a temporary exemption from certain aspects of FMVSS 208, a well-proven pathway for independent companies to introduce advanced technologies to the public. Each vehicle will meet or exceed these standards so that every vehicle is safe and certified to use on all State and Federal highways. EVFI vehicles are not golf carts with doors. They are not low-speed or Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEV). EVFI vehicles perform as well as their gasoline-powered counterparts with zero emissions and without the use of any liquid petroleum products.

Is it practical to change over the entire U.S. market to electric vehicles?

No. Although gasoline is a relatively cheap fuel, the infrastructure required to convert the US Interstate system to one suitable for convenient recharging on the road is not feasible. The EV market is in the commuter and “daily driver” routines. 90% of drivers travel less than 38 miles a day. 95% of them drive less than 100 miles per day. This is the market for EV’s. EVFI can serve this market now, without a charging grid. EVFI Annual production would save 42 million gallons of gasoline each year. That means within five years, about 250 million gallons a year can be dropped from the American demand. Every EVFI vehicle will be powered with 100% American made electricity.

How long do the batteries last before replacement and how much will they cost?

EVFI utilizes a fully tested and warrantied battery pack with the most reliable and environmentally safe technology available today. The battery pack has historically lasted for at least 7 years in current BEV applications, if operated correctly. The patent-pending Charging system aboard every EVFI; vehicle may greatly extend the lifetime of the batteries by supplying a constant source of energy even when the vehicle is not plugged in.

EVFI will always utilize the state-of-the-art energy storage technology, as long as it can be offered to the consumer in an affordable and safe format. EVFI will replace any battery for free that fails within two years of the date of purchase. After that, it will be prorated just like any battery. Battery technology is changing as rapidly as a smart phone, but due to a vacancy of capital in the market and interference from government agencies, better technology is years away from manufacturing capability.

EVFI has developed one of the automotive industry’s fastest new product development processes, making sure you have access to the best battery as soon as it is ready. The higher the volume produced, the lower the cost will become. No one knows how low the cost will be for replacing our current leading-edge batteries in 7-8 years. Where can I recharge my EVFI vehicle?

Everywhere. All EVFI vehicles come with a built-in battery charger. No special charging grid is required. All you need is access to an ordinary 110 volt or 220 volt outlet, or the high-power J1772 outlet, or even a portable generator. You have an ordinary receptacle in your garage, at work, or even in your hotel room. You can recharge your EVFI vehicle anywhere you like, any time you like. You are completely independent from any service station or expensive charging grid. The cost should average about 75 cents a day to drive a EVFI vehicle.

The more energy you deplete, the longer it will take to recharge. The time it takes to recharge depends on how depleted the batteries are. Usually, it takes about an hour for the batteries to reach 90% of their full charge, depending upon how far the batteries have been depleted. Plugging in whenever you have the chance, called opportunity charging should keep your car fully charged for pennies a day and preserve the life of your batteries for many years. Leaving your car in the sunshine will also charge the batteries with free energy because EVFI is the only PEV with a built in solar panel to directly recharge the batteries. The EVFI Condor with a full solar package may fully recharge the batteries in a single day of direct sunshine, making the cost of operation nearly zero for applications like mail delivery, Auto Parts delivery, locksmiths, laundry delivery, city maintenance and other local route operations. EVFI vehicles may be parked unattended for years in remote areas without being plugged in without the worry of self-discharging.

What is Range Anxiety?

The term “Range Anxiety” was created by oil companies and marketed to people who do not yet own an electric vehicle. People who own electric vehicles are familiar with a new term; ENERGY INDEPENDENCE. The Department of Transportation Household Survey has not reported a significant change in American driving habits in more than 20 years. The average personal trip is 10.06 miles. The average commercial trip is 26.8 miles. Most Americans drive less than 100 miles a day. Owners of Electric Vehicles save an average of $3,500 a year in fuel costs over their formerly gasoline-powered vehicles.

Is it true that electric vehicles pollute as much as gasoline vehicles?

Only if you believe the public service announcements paid for by the oil companies. Most electricity in America is produced with clean sources such as hydro-electric, natural gas, and nuclear power. Electric vehicles recharge mostly at night, during the idle periods of coal-fired power plants. Therefore, EV’s do not produce a single additional pound of Carbon Dioxide to the atmosphere. In fact, with the additional revenue from thousands of small increases in nighttime consumption, utilities can keep peak rates more affordable for decades to come. One thing is for sure. Electricity is 100% American made and owned. Petroleum comes from up to 64% foreign sources and is a risk to national security. EVFIvehicles recharge six different ways, only one of which is plugging it into the wall socket. If you choose, you never have to plug your EVFIvehicle into the electric grid. It will charge up all on its own through clean and natural sunlight.

How many jobs does EVFI create?

EVFI plans to initially hire 500 people who in America’s hardest hit area where unemployment rates are nearly 25%. These are the first automotive manufacturing jobs in this region in more than 20 years. Within three years, the high-paying jobs at EVFI plans to increase its workforce to 1,200 and should generate up to 3,500 support and spinoff jobs.

Remember, 15% of the payroll will result in tax revenues for the local economy through purchases EVFI employees will make in their local communities. After decades of devastating losses of manufacturing jobs, EVFI is working closely with officials in North Carolina and Michigan to develop a product line of highway ready, fully electric commuter vehicles. This growth should generate an additional 1,000 to 1,500 jobs initially with solid growth already indicated. EVFI already has written interest and opt-in sales leads for its affordable electric vehicles.

While the Parties in Washington fight like dogs over a media porkchop to see who is going to be first to give more money to Americans who are out of work, federal agencies discriminate against small businesses who would provide high-paying technology jobs for those very same Americans.  Small businesses are not eligible for Greenhouse Gas Credits.  Additionally, they have passed regulations forbidding banks from loaning money to small business without high-equity real estate to back the loans. The Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Fund, once valued at $23.5 billion, is officially off-limits to small business.

The Department of Energy offering managers have stated that  taxpayer funds will only be available to billion-dollar, multinational corporations. For a fraction the cost of what Congress plans to provide unemployed Americans as a temporary partial paycheck, EVFI could put those same people back to work with permanent high-paying jobs manufacturing electric vehicle the nation so desperately demands. EVFI is the perfect small business model of a “job creator”. There are more Americans receiving foodstamps than are receiving a paycheck. EVFI can support the process of putting people back to work manufacturing affordable electric vehicles for a nation begging for relief from high fuel prices.

The fact that EVFI is 100% American-owned also means that its profits would stay at home and would be reinvested in capital improvements in the United States. Where can I test drive and buy a EVFI vehicle?

EVFI is forming a joint economic agreement with a national chain of EV service centers to make sure you have local, affordable maintenance support for your EVFI vehicle. These service centers will also be outlets for EVFI vehicles for sale. EVFI will be launching the Condor platform within a region surrounding the North Carolina Assembly Plant in Charlotte.

All of the sales will be completed at the Charlotte, North Carolina facility. The Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin will be valid in 49 States, and not in California at this time. The State of California prevents the sale of new electric vehicles until each model has been certified under its own system called the California Air Resources Board. Although all EVFI vehicles are 100% emission free, it may be a few more months before you can drive one in California.

What makes a EVFI vehicle different from the rest of the electric car companies?

Currently, there are about 9.6 million new vehicles selling annually in the U.S from 57 different car makers. There are zero affordable electric trucks for sale in the U.S. That will change, once EVFIbegins mass production in a few months. EVFIis the only affordable option for consumers who want to own their entire pickup truck, including the battery pack. The EVFI vehicle will recharge anywhere, anytime from any available power source, including sunlight. Is it true that the EVFI Condor will be the only small pickup truck for sale in the U.S. market?

Yes. The major car makers have all announced they are not going to sell a small pickup truck in the U.S. market. The Ford Ranger went out of production in December of 2011. The Toyota Tacoma, Dodge Dakota, Nissan Frontier, and Chevy Colorado are all midsized pickup trucks with poor fuel economy. Everyone else has moved consumers up to full-sized trucks. This means that the EVFI Condor will not only be the only electric truck in the U.S. market, it will be the only small cab and chassis available in the U.S. market. With a base MSRP of around $49,995 with extended range battery before incentives and rebates, the EVFI Condor is the best small truck value in the market.

The Condor has a yearly operating cost of less than $400 and limitless bed options, including a full solar package that may fully charge the truck in a single day of sunshine.

Do EVFI vehicles have Heating and Air Conditioning?

Yes.You never have to climb into a hot or cold vehicle again. The instant-on heat or air conditioning will optimize the interior temperature in minutes, compared to conventional automobiles that have to run an engine and must first warm up a reservoir of water or other liquid. AC output is 40 Degrees COLD in less than 2 minutes. Electric heat is 185 Degrees HOT in less than 1 minute. Either system may be operated for 24 hours non-stop, supporting almost any traffic jam with ZERO EMISSIONS.

The vehicles may be preheated or air conditioned while it is parked and attached to the charging circuit in advance. This preserves the battery pack storage. In addition, EVFI insulates each vehicle as an effort to conserve energy, so once it is hot or cold, it may stay that way much longer than the conventional automobile. This saves battery power for driving. The air conditioning consumes only a few amps while it is running, so you can keep the vehicle cold for hours with outside temperatures up to 120 degrees or warm for hours when the temperature drops to subfreezing.

EVFI vehicle heaters may be powered while the vehicle is plugged in, or by utilizing the vehicle’s battery pack. In addition, the waste heat from the air-cooled motor may be recycled through the cab to help keep the vehicle warm while driving in cold climates. The powerful and efficient ceramic heater is applied to keep the vehicle warm with a minimum of energy. The ceramic heat consumes up to 10 amps in extreme cold, so driving distances can be affected, and insulation becomes even more critical.

Are EVFI vehicles too quiet?

No. The NHTSA study*, in section 5.2.2, states, “In the results reported below, it is clear that EVs are being detected by vision impaired pedestrians sooner and with better accuracy than ICE vehicles. To understand this anomalous result, one must be aware that EVs tested emit a faint 5-kHz tone with a 10-kHz harmonic when they are operating in regenerative braking mode.” The same tones can be detected outside the vehicle during acceleration at speeds under 30 mph. Above 30 mph, the tire and wind noise are identical with that of traditional vehicles. Sighted and un-sighted pedestrians are actually safer when being approached by a EVFI vehicle than they are with a gasoline-powered vehicle.

What country is the largest consumer of Petroleum in the world?

China. The U.S is now second. India is not far behind. Anything from a natural disaster like a storm or earthquake to a trade imbalance or a conflict will make the cost of petroelum skyrocket. Political and economic instabilities have threatend to increase the price to more than $200 a barrell for oil. Without a rapid deployment of alternatives for petroleum, the security of America is at risk. Without EVFI, and other independent electric vehicle manufacturers, a 100% increase in the price of oil would be catastrophic to the American economy. The reduction in U.S. industry, and the systematic conversion of labor to service rather than manufacturing, have placed the nation in an economic black hole from which the only escape is the creation of more manufacturers! It is absolutely vital to focus on EVFI Electric vehicles to save the economy and security of America. Why not allow the major car makers to supply the electric vehicle?

The major car makers will never produce affordable electric vehicles, unless they can also be paid for the consumable energy. That is the whole purpose for the charging grid. Each of the major car makers has received stimulus cash and subsidies from the taxpayers, which they still have not repaid. They have devastated millions of personal retirement portfolios through their focus on low-mileage gasoline powered cars. They fund thousands of lobbyists in Washington to make sure they have a steady flow of taxpayer funded grants, low-interest loans, and loan guarantees while keeping the true innovators away from the American driver.

They want to force the American consumer to buy their high-priced electric vehicle and then charger them to drive it every day. Do you have any idea how much it will cost to drive one of their cars? Nobody does.

The Independent Electric Vehicle Manufacturers collectively offer more than 40,000 high-tech and stable jobs to Americans who are currently out of work and will put $2 billion tax free dollars a day back into the pockets of American commuters to spend on something other than gasoline. Now that’s a stimulus program!

Federal Agencies work ceaselessly to protect the major car makers by taxing, fining, and litigating independent companies.

Why hasn’t EVFI started production already?

The EVFI Condor is available immediately for export markets. The American market is another story entirely.Federal regulations governing the production and sale of electric vehicles are designed to protect the revenues of the major car makers. Regulations are passed by the Agencies without representation to protect global corporations that ensure independent car makers do not have access to the marketplace. EVFI vehicles are safer than 95% of the vehicles on the road today and produce zero emissions. EVFI is working closely with Congress for legislation that makes it possible for electric vehicle makers to get an emission-free vehicle past the EPA to the American market. The EPA’s official position is that converting vehicles to emission-free electric propulsion is a violation of the Clean Air Act and punishable by a fine of $37,500 per vehicle.

California Air Resources Board approval is mandatory in 17 States and can take up to a year or more to obtain, after paying $50,000 or more. The CARB process cannot begin until after EPA certification is obtained. EPA certification and its Fuel Economy Label are required for all new “motor vehicles” [actually we make electric shavers], and there is no process unique to electric vehicles. (Where do they stick the pipe?) The fine for not having the label is $32,000 per vehicle. EPA certification cannot be obtained until after the NHTSA process is complete. Electric vehicles not completing this combination of approvals are not eligible for any Federal tax rebates or incentives.

How will electric cars, including yours, perform in extreme climate conditions?

Different battery technologies respond to temperature in different ways. Lead-acid batteries, including AGM batteries, rely on an ion exchange between sulfuric acid and lead. That equation takes place best at around 73 degrees Fahrenheit. When it gets too hot or too cold, the battery is less efficient. There are several Lithium ion exchange chemistries, but only a few are actually in affordable production. The early batteries were prone to thermal runaway during charging. They could even catch on fire. Lithium polymer was convenient, but when electrically stacked they required careful management to within 0.01 volts to avoid catastrophic failure and meltdowns.

Lithium has been blended with various other metals, the most common currently is Iron Phosphate. This battery is non-toxic, cheap to produce, has no liquid anode, and will last around 7 years when cared for properly. The other advantage is that they are not too susceptible to cold temperatures, and can operate safely up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. The disadvantage is moderate watt density. Lithium Titanium is much better, but these batteries are far too expensive for cars and are not in production yet.

The current EVFI Condor utilizes a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery that has been tested down to -10 degrees Fahrenheit and in 110 degrees Fahrenheit without any issues. In addition, EVFI vehicles are impervious to altitude

When will EVFI be scheduled for sale with the General Services Administration?

EVFI will sell its vehicles directly to any government agency. The General Services Administration (GSA) employs more than 12,600 people and requires all small businesses to post a Letter of Credit up front equal to the value the GSA might order over a four-year period. For example, if the GSA Offering listed the possibility of 10 vehicles per year, EVFI would have to post a Letter of Credit equal to the sale price of 40 vehicles (about $1.2 million) before the EVFI vehicle could be listed on the schedule. These costs are added to the price of the vehicle for government agencies.
